Transport for London has suspended the Congestion Charge and ULEZ charges as part of a series of measures to curb the COVID-19 outbreak’s impact on the healthcare system and the local economy.

From Monday 23rd March, TfL suspended all road user charging schemes in the capital so that London’s critical workforce, particularly healthcare and supply chain workers, are able to travel as easily as possible.

The decision gives a welcome boost for private hire drivers as well, since the Congestion Charge meant an £11.50 cut every day you entered Central London, reaching even £24 unless you were driving an ULEZ-compliant car.

Both charges remain lifted until further notice.
