On 22 February  the Government announced its roadmap out of the current lockdown.

We prepared a quick guide so you can keep the key dates in mind and adapt your driving strategy to maximise your earnings as the restrictions are gradually relaxed:

8 March

Schools will open with outdoor after-school sports and activities also allowed
Recreation in outdoor public spaces is allowed between 2 people, so people can sit down for a coffee or have a picnic in the park.

With the weather warming and the days getting longer, parks and communal spaces will become very busy. Keep an eye on your watch and target residential neighborhoods in the morning and in the early afternoon. In the meantime, explore food and package delivery options, as people will probably still be relying heavily on these.

29 March

Gatherings of six people or two households will be allowed outdoors. Outdoor sports facilities will open and travel outside local areas will also be permitted.

Sports complexes and parks should become increasingly busy as people meet up outdoors. Expect railway stations and long-distance bus terminals to become hotspots again.

12 April

Non-essential retail and personal care (hairdressers, nail salons) will reopen, as well as outdoors hospitality. Gyms and swimming pools also, as well as self-contained accommodation.

Pubs and eateries will finally be back on the map at this point. This should have a high impact on your weekend earnings, so make sure to clear your schedule at least for the first few weeks, when people will be most excited to visit these venues again.

17 May

Most outdoor social contact rules will be lifted and six people (or two households) can meet indoors. Indoor hospitality and hotels can reopen.

The reopening of indoor hospitality and the mixing of up to six people inside will see one of the largest increases in ride demand. By this stage the weather will be heating up considerably and the summer bank holidays also will be on the horizon.

21 June

All legal limits on social contact to be removed.

Demand should start bouncing back to pre-COVID levels as people will want to make up for lost time over the winter lockdowns – whether it be travelling, eating out, shopping, or just enjoying the outside spaces.
