  • Uber Clean Air Plan FAQ

    • What is the Uber Clean Air Plan?

Uber has partnered with car providers such as Splend, to help drivers access electric cars through their Clean Air Plan. Between 16 January 2019 and 14 March 2022, drivers collected a Clean Air Fee of 3p for every trip in London inside the M25, going into their personal Uber Clean Air Fund, to help them upgrade to an EV.

    • Where is the Uber Clean Air Plan available?

Currently, the Uber Clean Air Plan covers only the city of London. However, Uber plans on extending it to other cities in the UK sometime in the future.

    • How do I know if I'm eligible for Uber's Clean Air Plan?

To be eligible for Uber Clean Air assistance with Splend, you must:

      • have a minimum of £100 gathered in Clean Air Fees
      • have at least 150 trips completed in the last 8 weeks.
    • When did the Clean Air Fee stop being charged?

Starting 14 March 2022, Uber has stopped the Uber Clean Air Fee, but PCO drivers are still able to use the funds they’ve accumulated to get an EV, while those already driving one will receive 15% higher rates on all Uber Green trips.

Why go electric H beyond zero emissions

Save on fuel & running costs

Driving an EV means you’ll no longer need to fill up the tank. It is estimated that if you drive 700 miles per week, an electric vehicle could save you £30+ per week compared to a petrol hybrid.

Better for the environment

Electric cars have no tailpipe emissions, meaning there is no CO2 emitted into the atmosphere when you are on the road. This makes London’s air cleaner and the city a more enjoyable place to live with less pollution and congestion.

No ULEZ or Congestion Charge

If you drive a PHEV or EV, you’ll be able to access incentives rom both Uber and the Government, and save money from day one being exempt from the £15 daily Congestion Charge in Central London.
