How does part-exchange work? 

To better understand how part-exchange at Splend works, here are the steps you should follow: 

1. Contact us for a free valuation  

If you have an old PCO car you want to exchange, give us a call at 0333 016 4331, and we’ll do a no-obligation, free valuation of your car. We use up-to-date market data to provide an estimated value based on the details you provide about the car — plate number, mileage, condition, and service history.  

2. Come to our Hub for the final valuation  

To ensure we are offering the very best price we can for your PCO car, come to our London Hub in Cricklewood for an on-site physical inspection. The final valuation can vary from the estimated valuation per the above factors. 

3. Join Splend 

Once we agree on the final price, all you need to do is reserve your new EV.

When you’re ready, you can drop off your old car by our Hub, collect your new EV and start enjoying all the benefits available with Splend. Depending on the value of your car, you can enjoy nothing to pay for weeks! 

Bonus step

IMPORTANT: If you have Uber Clean Air EV Assistance, we double it and add it alongside your Part-exchange credit.

For example, if you have £3,000 EV assistance, we’re doubling it to £6,000 you can use as credit towards paying for the EV you want, besides the credit you already got for trading your old PCO car. That means you got nothing to pay for months for your brand-new EV. 

How does car payment work? 

For the part-exchange program, we provide you with the credit upfront. You will pay the weekly subscription for your EV only after you’ve used up all your credit from the car you’ve exchanged. 

TIP: Save more by combining your Uber Clean Air EV assistance with the Part-exchange plan.  

Here’s an example if you decided to part exchange a Toyota Prius Hybrid with a final valuation of £8,000 and sign up with Splend in an MG4 on our 5-year Flexi own subscription at £249 per week. 

Using the £8,000 credit upfront, there would be 32 weeks where your weekly payment would be £0 (normally £249). 

By the end of the 32 weeks, you would have recovered the value of your previous asset by not paying the full weekly payment.

What documents do I need for part-exchange? 

For Splend’s part-exchange, you will need the following: 

  • Logbook (V5C) 
  • MOT Certificate (if applicable) 
  • Service history documentation 
  • Spare keys 
  • Locking wheel nut key 
  • Vehicle manual 

Note: If your car has outstanding finance, then we cannot currently offer you part-exchange.
