The winner of July’s customer reward program – Rasel is the perfect example of how far you can go when you love what you do. Although he’s been a rideshare driver for only 3 years, Rasel has a 5-star rating that hasn’t changed in the past 11 weeks. His secret?

I like to think that I’m a good driver by nature. Besides knowing Central London’s streets like the back of my hand, I also sense what a passenger needs as soon as he steps into my car.

Rasel is not completely new to the transport industry. He was a minicab operator for a few years before shifting to ridesharing. As people started to rely more on Uber or Bolt for transportation, Rasel followed this trend and decided to become an Uber driver

The thing he appreciates most about ridesharing is the freedom you have when running your own business.

As a rideshare driver, I get to follow my own rules. I wouldn’t imagine myself sitting in an office all day. Now, if I have to run some errands in the middle of the day, no one can stop me and that’s the beauty of being your own boss.

Rasel values his spare time, so he tries to maintain a healthy work-life balance. He drives for 6-7 hours per day and he usually takes a break on Monday or Tuesday, when the demand for rides tends to be lower. When he’s not driving, you can find him winning a badminton game or going out to try some new food.

At first, we’re all tempted to do as much overtime as we possibly can, to earn more and more. I realised over time just how important it’s to have some moments for yourself or your family. I discovered what schedule works best for me and now I’m happy with both my earnings and the free time I get.

Rasel’s life as a rideshare driver has become much easier since having his fully-electric MG ZS. He likes this car for its size, comfort, and efficiency, but what really blew his mind was the actual rage the car has.

When I got the MG ZS, I was told that it has an impressive 270-mile range from a single charge. The surprise was that it can now squeeze up to 405 miles while zipping through the city during the summer, and that helps me a lot during busy times.

As petrol prices keep getting higher everyday, getting an EV was the smartest move for Rasel. He’s not stressed about driving through Central London and charging his car is never a hassle, since he uses rapid public stations that can fill up his EV in less than 40 minutes.

You lose lots of time if you have to handle every paper and payment by yourself, and time is valuable in ridesharing. Rasel is very thankful for the prize he got, as he feels his efforts are finally paying off. He plans on doing some serious shopping spree with the money, for a proper season start.
