PCO car hire covers car rental or subscription packages specifically tailored for ridesharing and deliveries. PCO cars are pre-approved for all on-demand driving – if you meet all the driver requirements for the job you’ve set your eyes on, you can get behind the wheel the same day you apply.
PCO car hire is similar to a traditional car rental, but instead of getting you from point A to point B, its purpose is to offer you a tool to earn an income with on-demand driving.
PCO car hire is often referred to as Uber car rental since it’s ideal for ridesharing jobs or on-demand driving gigs. You can apply without a credit check or a large deposit, and you can hand back the car at no cost in just 6 weeks.
Uber car rental has the following conditions: you must be at least 23 years old, and of course, hold a full UK driver’s licence with a good driving record. You also have to be a permanent UK resident, having lived in the country for at least the past year.
In terms of driving experience, we ask for at least 5 years if you’re under 25, and 2 years if you’re older.
In order to qualify for a PCO car subscription at Splend you also need to have at least one active rideshare driver account (Uber, Bolt, Ola, Free Now, etc).
The weekly fee on our PCO car subscriptions depends on the exact car model you choose, but it always includes all the paperwork that’s required for the car to be used for on-demand driving jobs, such as registration, motor insurance cover with accident claims assistance, Road Tax, MoT, as well as the PHV licence.
In addition, the weekly fee covers your car’s regular maintenance costs, 24/7 roadside assistance, and a series of additional Splend member benefits
You can drive 700 miles per week if you drive your car on a Flexi subscription, over which we charge £1 for every 10 miles.
In PCO car hire, it’s mandatory to have insurance that covers you, your passengers, as well as your car and any third party involved in an accident.

In order for a car to be eligible for Uber, it must have four independently opening doors, it has to be in good condition with no cosmetic damage, and with no commercial branding.
It must also meet the latest emission standards enforced by TfL, and have all its paperwork in order to obtain a Private Hire Vehicle Licence.
